To fully harness the unique qualities of the power loom “GL3” made by Toyota Automatic Loom Works nearly half a century ago, every detail—from the texture and thickness of the yarns to the number of vertical and horizontal weaves— is carefully crafted according to D’Artisan’s original recipe to create the exclusive 15oz selvedge denim known as “GL3 Denim.” This denim showcases a distinctive unevenness and rugged texture that cannot be replicated by modern, uniform mass production techniques.

This special denim jacket is dyed using the traditional “Amami Mud-Dyeing” technique passed down through generations on Amami Oshima Island.

Using dye extracted from the native tea tree (Caragana Sinica) and iron-rich mud from strata formed over 1.5 million years ago, each garment is carefully dyed by nature’s own methods. The resulting depth and warmth of color is something artificial dyes can never reproduce.

This jacket features classic pockets without flaps for a timeless look.
