The GL3 loom by Toyota Automatic Loom Works, created over half a century ago, is one of Japan's earliest power looms.

Since replacement parts are no longer produced, maintenance requires salvaging parts from discarded identical looms. Maintaining it is labor-intensive, and furthermore, it is an inefficient loom capable of weaving only about 5 meters per hour.

However, denim woven on this GL3 loom possesses the ruggedness and raw texture of denim from half a century ago, making it a unique loom capable of delivering denim for authentic workwear.

The classic SD-1000 series "GL3 Series" by D’Artisan maximizes the unique qualities of this GL3 loom. We use denim crafted according to D’Artisan’s original recipe, considering every detail including the yarn’s texture and thickness, color tone, and the number of threads woven per inch.

This results in a distinctive unevenness and roughness that modern, mass-produced denim cannot replicate. Through uncompromising dedication and repeated sample weaving, we have finally completed this confident masterpiece.

The popular GL3 series now features an unindigo-dyed, natural-colored version, allowing you to enjoy the original color of the yarn that forms the fabric. This natural denim jacket offers a different aesthetic from indigo denim, and through repeated wear, it brings a new way to enjoy denim.
