A traditional dyeing technique called "Kakishibu dyeing," passed down since the Heian period over 900 years ago.

It is said to have begun when samurai and yamabushi wore reddish-brown clothing dyed with kakishibu during the Heian period.

Due to its high antibacterial properties and deodorizing effects, fabric dyed with kakishibu was also used as a herbal medicine.

As it changes color and develops a deep hue when exposed to sunlight and air, it is also referred to as "sun dyeing,"

and it has been a part of the lives of the Japanese people for a long time.

Dalchizan has created an original fabric using threads dyed with this "Kakishibu dyeing,"

combining it with indigo threads. To achieve a rough texture, both the warp and weft threads use thick, irregularly woven super irregular threads of 6.7 count,

which creates a unique texture. Additionally, by incorporating randomly dyed nepp threads (threads that retain the slubs formed during spinning) in indigo into the weft,

we were able to create a rugged atmosphere.

The hickory pattern is inspired by random hickory, also known as "parent-child hickory."

The classic work style pattern of hickory, combined with the colors of "Kakishibu dyeing,"

brings forth the debut of the "Kakishibu Denim Hickory Coverall [D4522]" with an unprecedented color palette.

Based on vintage coveralls from the 1940s,

it features large pockets and an A-line silhouette,

balancing a workwear-like texture with a refined atmosphere that avoids looking clumsy.

This coverall has a strong presence that mixes Japanese and Western styles.
